Why the Ravens, Colts And Eagles Will Make The Postseason

andrew luck colts indianapolis Heading into the final week of the NFL season there are still three playoff spots still up for grabs.

In the AFC North, the division winner is yet to be decided, but the Baltimore Ravens have the easier path to the postseason because if they win, they’re in.

The Ravens were in this exact situation last season against the Cincinnati Bengals, but they couldn’t finish the job. They lost 31-27 in heartbreaking fashion and missed the playoffs for the third straight season.

This year the Ravens will take care of business at home as they will lean on their top-ranked defense to defeat the Cleveland Browns and punch-in their ticket for the playoffs for the first time in four years. Although the Steelers will beat the Bengals at Heinz Field they will miss the playoffs for the first time since the 2013-2014 season.

In the AFC South, it’s a win-or-go-home situation as the Tennessee Titans host the Indianapolis Colts in Nashville.

Indianapolis leads the league in third-down percentage and has scored a touchdown on nine of ten red zone trips in their last three games.

The Titans have allowed the second-fewest points in the league this season but lost their defensive anchor Jurell Casey to injury last week. Although the Colts are on the road, they have the right weapons to exploit the Titans defense and earn their first trip to the playoffs since 2014.

The final playoff spot in the NFC is also up for grabs between the Minnesota Vikings (who host the Chicago Bears) and the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, who visit the Washington Redskins.

The Bears will play to win against their division foe as they’re likely to prefer to host the Eagles in the playoffs than play the Vikings for a third time if they let them in.

With the starters playing in Minnesota, look for Khalil Mack and the rest of the Bears defense to be too much for the Vikings to handle. With the Bears victory, the Eagles will take advantage of the clear path to the playoffs. Expect Nick Foles to lead them to victory as they clinch the final NFC playoff spot on the last day of the regular season.
