Preview And Prediction For Sunday’s Wild Card Games

The Baltimore Ravens host the Los Angeles Chargers in a rematch of their Week 16 game in which Baltimore won 22-10.

In that game the Ravens held L.A to their fewest points and yards of the season while putting quarterback Philip Rivers under pressure on 43.9 of his dropbacks (a season high).

This time around expect things to be different as the Chargers are much healthier for this matchup, as Melvin Gordon, Keenan Allen, and Austin Ekeler will all be available for this game.

The Chargers defense held the Ravens to their lowest rushing output with Lamar Jackson at quarterback, which means that this rematch is projected to be closer.

Expect the Chargers to come on top by six points or less.

Philadelphia Eagles at Chicago Bears

Eagles’ head coach Doug Peterson and the Bears’ Matt Nagy are extremely familiar with each other, from their days with Andy Reid, something that makes this matchup extremely intriguing.

Both quarterbacks will face defensive lines capable of taking over the game so the key for both teams is how their passers deal with that pressure, as this is a factor that will go a long way in determining the final score.

Nagy will put Mitch Trubisky in favorable situations to avoid the Eagles elite pressure and target their depleted secondary by throwing short passes on early downs.

The Bears ability to both run and pass from the same formations gives them the ability to disguise their play calling and gives them an advantage.

Nick Foles has the challenge of going against Khalil Mack and a Bears defense that led the league in takeaways, with 36. Foles has thrown an interception in each of his three starts since taking over for the injured Carson Wentz.

He’s likely to throw at least one more pick in this game as the Bears use their defense to slow him down and win this game by at least a field goal.
