Top NFL Quarterbacks Lining Up For Big Payday

NFLGreen Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rogers has just leap-froged Joe Flacco and Drew Brees to become the highest paid quarterback in the NFL. Actually, he is the highest paid player in the league at any position.  Rogers just signed at five-year deal with the Packers for a record $110,000,000 which contains $54 million in guarantees including a nice $35 million signing bonus. His $62.5 million in the first three years deal is now the highest in the NFL for now.

These big deal contracts are always negotiated to be surpassed.  While no NFL player is likely to surpass Rogers soon, his new deal smells of roses to a few other good quarterbacks whose agents are already contemplating their next salary negotiation. Horseracing’s Triple Crown Is Underway In May

Triple CrownIt’s that time of the year once again. Each May the focus of horsemen and horsewomen everywhere turns to Louisville, Kentucky, Churchill Downs and the legendary Kentucky Derby.  It is horseracing’s premier event. It means Mint Juleps, Big Hats, gentlemen in suede jackets and the most beautiful horses in the world.

But the Kentucky Derby is only the first leg on route to racings’ most coveted prize, the Triple Crown. Officially the three race series is called “The Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing” although, when you say Triple Crown, everyone knows what you are talking about even though other sports have their versions of the Triple Crown. The 2013 NFL Draft – The Early Rounds

NFL DraftThe long away big show got started on Thursday evening when NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell took the stage at Radio City Music Hall in New York City to announce the very first pick of the NFL Draft for 2013.  The Kansas City Chiefs took Eric Fisher a Defensive tackle from Central Michigan University and started a trend that lasted all the way through the second round of picks.

Trending today we have linemen and linebackers dominating the draft. The first seven players taken in the draft on Thursday were all big, beefy guys averaging somewhere around 300 pounds.  For the first time in many years, running backs and quarterbacks were not the top choices for 2013. MLB Hosts Screenings For The Movie “42”

42 the MovieThe extraordinary new movie about legendary major league baseball great Jackie Robinson is taking the nation by storm.  It is a true American Classic about a genuine American Hero. Jackie Robinson was much more than just a baseball player.  He didn’t set out to be little did he know of the impact that he would have on future generations when he stepped out onto Ebbets field back in 1947.

The story is a great one and now MLB Commissioner Bud Selig’s office, along with all 30 MLB teams, will host private screenings of the movie “42” which depicts the drama around Robinson’s entry into Major League Baseball as the first African-American to ever take the field in the big leagues.  It is a truly inspiring story.
