Stanford WongStanford Wong is the pseudonym of world famous gambling author and former professional gambler, John Ferguson.  Ferguson/Wong first published his popular book on gambling, “Professional Blackjack”, way back in 1975 and it remains in print to this day. Mr. Ferguson attended Stanford University in California and was one of the original members of the Blakjack Hall of Fame.  Other publications under the name Stanford Wong include “Wong on Dice” and “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Gambling Like A Pro”. His computer program “Blackjack Analyzer”, initially created for personal use, was one of the first blackjack odds analyzer software programs to hit the market.

Victorino Signs With Red Sox For $39,000,000

Shane Victorino Signs with Red SoxFormer Hawaiian high school track and field champ Shane Victorino signed a three year contract for a reported $39,000,000 this week with the Boston Red Sox. He was drafted by the LA Dodgers back in 1999 and spent two years in the minors reaching Double A with the Jacksonville Suns of the Southern League in 2002.

The versatile, switch-hitting outfielder spent time with the San Diego Padres, the Philadelphia Phillies and the Los Angeles Dodgers before becoming the newest name on the Red Sox roster. He was most familiar in the uniform of the Phillies where he played from 2005 through 2012.  While in Philadelphia, Victorino won three Golden Glove Awards and was also honored as a member of two MLB All Star Teams.  He was an integral member of the Phillies team when they won the 2008 World Series and he also won the Lou Gehrig Memorial Award in 2008.
