Javier Baez Hits Four Homers – Gets Sent Back To The Minors

Javier BaezJavier Baez was the Chicago Cubs 9th overall selection in the 2011 MLB Draft. He is fast, he has quick hands and, at 6’1” & 205 lbs, he shows great potential for developing into a big time power hitter in professional baseball.

Early scouting reports say that the young athlete plays with an edge, swings from the heels and carries high energy to the baseball diamond.  Perhaps a little too much edge and energy to maintain a tough 162 game schedule in Major League Baseball.  But, the kid has tremendous potential and the Cubs seem determined to bring him up good and slow so as to make him part of a brighter future for the struggling Cubs organization. Robert Griffin III Boulevard

Robert Griffin IIIRobert Griffin III attended Copperas Cove High School where he drew more interest from colleges as a member of the track and field team than as a football player.  During his junior year in high school, RGIII set state records in the 110 and the 300 meter hurdles which earned him the Gatorade Texas Boys Track & Field Athlete of the Year Award.

They called him back down to Copperas Cove last week for the dedication of Robert Griffin III Boulevard which the township just named in honor of its most famous son.  In spite of the rainy day, some 500 local residents turned out for the dedication attesting to Griffins’ popularity in the small Texas town located just outside of Waco.

RGIII signed some autographs and took time out to spend with some of the children in attendance.  He told the kids, “Every little kid out there has a dream, everybody says they want something but it’s not enough to want it, you have to be willing to sacrifice for it.”  Baylor will be offering a quarterback scholarship in Griffin’s name to some needy student athlete next year. Roger Goodell Sits On The Throne

Roger GoodellWhen you make $10,000 an hour, you can afford a pretty nice throne. Believe it or not, that’s what Roger Goodell makes.  Well, that’s if he only works an eight hour day…….if he does 10 hours, it’s is a little less.  But still…..that’s still a pretty good hourly wage……actually, Goodell is probably the highest paid guy in all of sports.

No NFL All Star Quarterback or Coach even comes close. Perhaps this is the reason that Mr. Goodell seems to be all powerful and answerable to no one.  Actually, he does have to answer to the NFL team owners who pay his salary and bonuses which together amount to over $29,000,000 per year.
